Full Day Trips
Good Fortune departs from the Beaufort, NC docks at 9am and sets sail for Cape Lookout via Beaufort Inlet.  The two-hour trip is a great way to see a vast array of local and migratory birds.  Dolphins are ever present along with seasonal visits of great whales, harbor seals and the occasional manatee. The bird population can include frigate birds, storm petrels, shearwaters, gannets, brown pelicans and wading birds.
Cape Lookout harbor is one of the finest places to anchor for turtle watching, swimming, snorkeling or just sunning on the deck.  Passengers are shuttled ashore in a 12-foot Whaler to explore the most spectacular beach in the eastern U.S.  For those who want to snorkel, the rock jetty offers the finest fish watching on this coast.  Shelling is so extraordinary that the only way to describe it is "see it yourself."
The return sail takes advantage of the afternoon winds.  Bird nesting areas, island ponies and ospreys can be seen along the way.  We arrive back in Beaufort at 5pm.

Short Day
The 6-hour day is a sail to the same destination as the 8-hour trip (see above) with a shorter visit to Cape Lookout.  This is a popular summer trip which returns to Beaufort by 3pm.

Half Day
The 4½ hour trip can be a turnaround trip to Cape Lookout or, an excursion behind Shackleford Banks to a secluded soundside beach.  Wade Shores beach offers a close-up look at a maritime forest through which you can walk to the dunes and an open ocean beach.   Few visitors, unequaled shelling and swimming makes this trip a lifetime memory. You can schedule this trip in the morning or afternoon.

Dolphin Watch Sails, Sunset Sails and Economy Eco Sails
Our 2½ hour sails (and new Economy Eco Sails) take you into the ocean via Beaufort Inlet or into the Newport River estuary for up-close dolphin encounters.  This trip covers 10 to 15 miles and provides a great overview of the area.  It is also a great sailing experience for those who want the experience of moving through the water under sail.

Off-Season Overnight
This is an opportunity for a small group of up to 4 people to spend an overnight aboard a yacht. A trip to Cape Lookout or Shackleford Banks can be planned with an overnight at anchor or, if you prefer, at the Beaufort dock.  Food and drink are left up to the charter party.  The trip can be catered or a cook and food can be provided at extra cost.

Sit on Kayaks
are now included on all Shore Bound Trips.
